Makenna Long (5700) of Northmont placed 2nd and Delaney Cahill (5750) of Oakwood 3rd at the Brookville Cross Country Invitational.
Dylan Ballin (5180) led the Brookville girls by placing 4th overall. She is followed by eventual 6th place finisher Jazlen Simpson of Northmont.
BROOKVILLE — Cool temperatures made for ideal running conditions Saturday for the Brookville Cross Country Invitational at Golden Gate Park.
The high school boys competition featured 17 teams. Brookville placed 3rd overall and Northmont 4th. Centerville took 1st place with Oakwood taking 2nd place.
Dominic Lopez (Northmont) placed 2nd in 16:26. 62 with Micah Katz of Cincinnati Christian placing 1st in 16:24.28. Daron Porter (Northmont) took 6th in 16:54.91.
Christian Seitz led Brookville in 15th place at 17:29.37. Owen Bush (Northmont) was 18th in 17:33.07. Lucas Tipton (Brookville) finished 19th at 17:33.84.
Brookville runners Eli Ward finished 33rd at 18:22.84, Rowan Deardurff 37th in 18:27.31, Evan Pentecost 43rd in 18:35.89, Logan Wright 48th in 18:42.09 and Chase Puskas 52nd in 18:48.02.
Northmont runners Adam Wallace finished 68th in 19:06.43 and Grant Mergler was 71st in 19:11.46.
Drew Stammen (Brookville) finished 74th in 19:18.01. Jack Bradley (Northmont) was 80th in 19:27.22. Greyson Florkey (Brookville) was 85th in 19:37.26. Luuk Fokkink (Brookville) was 86th in 19:37.39.
Daemani Lee (Northmont) was 96th in 20:01.36. Matthew Helmick (Northmont) was 97th in 20:01.66. Alex Moore (Northmont) was 106th at 20:08.22.
Brookville runners James Booth finished 119th in 20:26.27, Dylan Meyers 132nd (20:57.00), Dale Inman 135th (21:02.46), and A.J. Rieder 139th (21:06.82).
Chase Bishop (Northmont) crossed the finish line 141st in 21:10.89. Blake Stacy (Brookville) was 148th in 21:20.85. Evan Hardin (Brookville) was 162nd in 22:12.85.
Austin Taylor (Brookville) finished 170th in 22:37.64. Henry Colley-Lambright (Northmont) was 209th in 24:36.43. Ethan Bench (Brookville) was 212th in 24:41.13 and Luke Hyre (Brookville) was 213th in 24:43.61.
Northmont runners Jacob Goble was 223rd (25:39.75), Cade Matthews 228th (25:49.05), and Owen Sanders 231st (26:06.22).
Brookville runners Benjamin Manley was 256th (28:18.70) and Jacob Balcom 262nd (29:50.14).
In the girls race Northmont placed 2nd and Brookville 3rd behind 1st place Oakwood.
