Lady Bolts soccer falls to Miamisburg

CLAYTON — One goal decided the game Wednesday night between Northmont and Miamisburg, which were tied for fourth place in the Greater Western Ohio Conference entering the contest.

Sophomore Jaylee Adams scored Miamisburg’s first goal at 9:32 in the first half. Senior Jayleigh Thomas netted the winning goal for the Lady Vikings in the second half. Goalkeeper allowed only one goal while making six saves.

Northmont’s lone goal was scored by freshman Abbie Hardy with an assist by sophomore Andie Brown. Sophomore goalkeeper Ayla Rammel made 10 saves.

With the victory Miamisburg improved to 2-1-0 in conference play and 3-5-0 overall while Northmont fell to 1-2-0 in the GWOC and 2-4-2 overall.

Monday the Lady Bolts scored a 2-0 non-conference win over Fairborn. Hardy and Brown scored first half goals with assists by Scarlett Knaier and Aubree Conti. Rammel made five saves to secure her first shutout of the season.

The Lady Bolts return to action Monday at Butler, travel to Centerville on Wednesday and play at Piqua on Saturday, Sept. 23.
