The following information has been provided by area police departments. The information listed in this column is considered public record and is available to anyone seeking information concerning what is provided below.

For purposes of this column, the term “arrested” or “charged” does not necessarily mean the person was taken into physical custody. It could also indicate that a summons was issued to the subject in lieu of physical custody.

All the people listed as “arrested” or “charged” are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Sunday, Aug. 27, Clayton 230000989: The theft of custom cushions for a patio chair and loveseat was reported on Brushwood Court. Total loss was set at $750.

Clayton 230000990: A resident on Semley Court found a bullet hole in the upstairs bedroom ceiling. Trotwood Police said they received a shots fired call before Clayton received this call. Police took photos of the hole in the ceiling and collected a bullet found on the floor.

Monday, Aug. 28, Clayton 230000992: A resident of Savina Avenue reported that an unknown subject attempted to withdraw $4,000 from his Fifth Third bank account in Miramar, Fla.

Tuesday, Aug. 29, Clayton 230000995: Police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Westbrook Road and Romaine Drive at 4 a.m. Police found a male and female outside a vehicle at the dead end of Romaine visibly shaking. They reported that while driving west on Westbrook, two vehicles with their lights off came up behind their vehicle at a high rate of speed and began to shoot at them for no reason. Police found a bullet hole in the trunk lid and driver’s side rear passenger door.

Clayton 230000997: Police responded to the 6600 block of Taywood Road on the report of a dog biting another dog through a fence.

Clayton 230001000: An officer responded to the area of Skylark and Stillmore drives on the report of two dogs chasing pedestrians. Christopher K. Lucas, 31, of Clayton, was cited for having dogs at large.

Clayton 230001001: Police responded to Valley Brook Drive and Union Road in reference to a possible crash and located a street sign at the corner of Benjamin Franklin Drive lying on the ground that had been struck by a vehicle.

Wednesday, Aug. 30, Clayton 23000103: A pit bull mix escaped its yard through a hole in the fence in the 6800 block of Stillmore Dr. After police arrived the dog went back into the yard. A neighbor screwed a piece of wood over the missing fence plank to secure the dogs.

Thursday, Aug. 31, Clayton 230001015: Justin K. Wallace, 42, of Dayton 45405, was arrested on a felony warrant out of Las Vegas, Nev. He was transported to the county jail.

Friday, Sept. 1, Brookville 2300368: Fraud was reported in the 300 block of Baker St. where a resident reported finding a collection notice from a college against her account. The victim has never attended a college.

Tuesday, Sept. 5, Brookville 2300372: Fraud was reported at Balsbaugh Concrete. The businesses discovered a subject had written a check against its account totaling $2,461 and attempted to cash it at First Tech Bank in Beaverton, Oregon.

Brookville 23-00373: Officers responded to Dollar General where a plastic bag containing a white powdery substance was found on the floor in front of the cash register.

Wednesday, Sept. 6, Brookville 23-00374: Karen A. Powell, 65, of Lewisburg, was charged with failure to obey a traffic control device, and operating a vehicle intoxicated with a prior conviction in the last 20 years. She was issued a court summons and released to a sober driver.

Thursday, Sept. 7, Brookville 23-00376: Police responded to a howling dog complaint in the 100 block of Wolf Creek St. An officer found a dog in a small enclosure in the back yard with a red and enflamed area on its hind quarters. The owner said the dog is being treated with medication but the condition persists. The Animal Resource Center said it would investigate.

Brookville 23-00378: Rusty L. Booker, Jr., 33, of Brookville, was arrested on a warrant out of Vandalia and turned over to a Vandalia officer.

Friday, Sept. 8, Brookville 23-00380: Telecommunications harassment was reported on Clay Street.

Sunday, Sept. 10, Brookville 23-00383: An unknown vehicle knocked a fire hydrant off its foundation in the 800 block of Arlington Rd.

Monday, Sept. 11, Brookville 23-00388: Charges for drug abuse (marijuana) and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia involving a 14-year-old male were sent to the Montgomery County Juvenile Prosecutors Office.
