MIAMISBURG — In the second round of the girls Division I, Southwest IV sectional tournament No. 10 seed Northmont bumped off No. 8 Miamisburg 1-0.

During the regular season Miamisburg scored a 2-1 victory over Northmont.

Thursday night both teams battled to advance to the third round of tournament play.

Midway through the first half senior captain Alina Perkins connected a pass across the box to junior captain Scarlett Knaier who nailed a kick to the back of the net.

Northmont battled to hold the lead for the remainder of the match.

With the victory the Lady Bolts improved to 6-10-2 while Miamisburg ended its 2023 campaign at 7-10-1.

Northmont advances to the third round of sectional play against No. 2 seed Springboro (15-1-2).
