The following information has been provided by area police departments. The information listed in this column is considered public record and is available to anyone seeking information concerning what is provided below.

For purposes of this column, the term “arrested” or “charged” does not necessarily mean the person was taken into physical custody. It could also indicate that a summons was issued to the subject in lieu of physical custody.

All the people listed as “arrested” or “charged” are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Thursday, Aug. 31, Englewood 230001418: Kenneth W. Simpson, 51, of Trotwood, a Walmart employee, was caught stealing multiple items over an extended period of time by scanning items at a lower price or failing to scan them entirely. He was charged with theft and released with a court summons.

Englewood 230001423: Deborah R. Mapp, 67, of Dayton 45406, was charged with theft at Meijer and trespassed from the property. She was issued a court summons and released.

Englewood 230001420: Ja’Shon L. Walker, 23, of Englewood, was charged with theft at Meijer, issued a court summons and released.

Englewood 231400027: Jerome L. Barrett, 51, of Dayton 45406, was charged with theft at Walmart and found to have an active warrant out of Beavercreek. Jail staff would not accept him due to an infected cut. Barrett was transported to Miami Valley Hospital and issued a court summons.

Saturday, Sept. 2, Englewood 230001432: Leah L. Randall, 23, at large, was arrested on a Huber Heights warrant and transported to the county jail.

Englewood 230001437: Lakendric V. Lyles, 21, of Springfield, was charged with theft at Walmart and released with a court summons.

Englewood 230001436: Kylee L. Thompson, 21, of Union City, Ind., was charged with theft at Walmart, issued a court summons and released.

Monday, Sept. 4, Englewood 230001449: Justin T. Murphy, 41, of Bellbrook, was charged with obstructing official business and disorderly conduct at Meijer. He was trespassed from the business and transported to jail.

Saturday, Sept. 30, Union 23000000414: Brianna R. Gillem, 26, of Union, was charged with operating a vehicle intoxicated, expired registration, marked lanes of travel, and display of registration. Gillem registered a 0.182 on a breath intoxilyzer test. She was issued a court summons and released to a sober driver.

Sunday, Oct. 1, Union 23000000417: Michael C. Welcome, 25, of Englewood, was charged with operating a vehicle intoxicated, failure to obey a traffic control device, and improper turn. Welcome registered at 0.172 percent on a breath intoxilyzer test. He was issued a court summons and released to a sober driver.

Monday, Oct. 2, Union 23000000419: Christopher T. Barger, 41, of Harrison Township, was arrested on a warrant out of Champaign County for child support and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Union 23000000420: Arianna J. Walker, 23, of Union, was arrested on a Union warrant for failure to appear on a charge of possession of dangerous drugs. She was transported to the county jail.

Union 23000000421: Fraud was reported in the 100 block of S. Old Mill Rd. A resident thought he made a purchase on Amazon for $159 and discovered the same amount was withdrawn from his bank account a second time. He called and spoke to someone he thought was with Amazon and was instructed to download the Anydesk app on his phone. The person then took control of his phone and went through his credit union account and fears more money will be withdrawn without authorization.

Tuesday, Oct. 3, Union 23000000422: An officer responded to the intersection of Old Springfield Road and Union Airpark Boulevard for a female subject requesting a ride to the Amazon Distribution Center. The officer discovered she was a wanted subject. Myiana M.D. Smith, 21, of Dayton 45406, was arrested on a warrant out of Xenia. She was taken into custody, transported to Woodman Drive, and turned over to a Xenia officer.

Wednesday, Oct. 4, Union 23000000423: Denton E. Little, 51, of West Milton, was arrested by Trotwood police on a warrant out of Union. Little was turned over to a Union officer and transported to the county jail.
