County auditor shares monthly report

EATON — Preble County Auditor Lavon Wright last week shared her report for the month of October.

During the month of October General Fund receipts totaled $1,117,134.69, according to the report, with sales tax revenue for totaling $643,060.76 from August sales.

Local taxation came in at $40,801, according to Wright, charges for services at $102,281.87, interest at $81,686.78, fines and forfeitures at $2,804.90 and the quarterly casino tax at $143,661.53.

The 1-mill conveyance receipts totaled $13,566.50 and the expenditures for the month was $22,000, Wright noted.

According to Wright, October’s General Fund disbursements totaled $1,197,766.45.Salaries, P.E.R.S. and Medicare disbursements for October were $630,188.93. Transfers for the month entailed $20,463.75 transferred to Job and Family Services.

Expenditures included those made for supplies, $46,273.17; health insurance, $107,221.08; contract services, $173,595.72; utilities, $10,623.33 and training/travel, advertising/printing and other expenses, $24,731.33.

According to Wright’s report, Preble County’s General Fund began 2023 with a cash balance of $9,137,957.30 and ended the month of October with $14,108,798.09.

Compared to October 2022, General Fund receipts decreased by $370,813.25; sales tax- decreased $46,622.02, charges for services decreased by $927.63 and interest income increased $13,026.30.

Expenditures for October 2023 were down $186,916.91 from October 2022, according to Wright.

Expenditures for supplies increased by $7,773.72, contracted services decreased by $327,788.71, other expenses decreased by $45,404.36 and equipment costs increased by $1,840.28.
