The following information has been provided by area police departments. The information listed in this column is considered public record and is available to anyone seeking information concerning what is provided below.

For purposes of this column, the term “arrested” or “charged” does not necessarily mean the person was taken into physical custody. It could also indicate that a summons was issued to the subject in lieu of physical custody.

All the people listed as “arrested” or “charged” are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Tuesday, Oct. 24, Clayton 230001257: A resident reported purchasing U.D. basketball tickets by contacting the seller through Facebook Messenger. The victim paid the seller $240 for the tickets via Venmo. After sending the money, the seller “ghosted” him and did not send the tickets.

Friday, Oct. 27, Clayton 230001274: Police responded to a vacant home for sale on Garber Road at the request of the Realtor who believed that someone has been staying in the house during the night after finding items inside that were not previously there. Police searched the house and found a male subject sitting in a corner upstairs. He was removed from the house. He was found to have one of the two missing house keys. The Realtor found a broken latch on a rear window and other windows unlocked. The male also had a AAA card and Penn Play card belonging to a female subject, a Fuyao Glass America employee ID belonging to a male subject, debit cards and a library card belonging to others. The male was issued a written trespass warning and released.

Saturday, Oct. 28, Clayton 230001278: Police found a 2019 Hyundai Elantra parked with the engine running in the middle of the street at Scenic River and Riverbend drives. The rear passenger window was shattered and the steering column peeled open. Police discovered the vehicle was stolen out of Miami Township. After abandoning the Elantra the unknown suspect then stole a 2014 Dodge Charger from the 1400 block of Scenic River Dr.

Clayton 230001281: A 2023 Toyota Camry rental car left running at a gas pump at United Dairy Farmers was stolen by four unknown black juveniles, one brandishing a handgun. UDF had surveillance footage of the suspects inside the store with a handgun. The suspects fled north on Union Road.

Friday, Nov. 10, Clayton 230001329: An abandoned multi-colored motorcycle was found abandoned in the Northmoor subdivision at Templehurst Road and Skylark Drive. The motorcycle was leaking fuel and lacked proper identification. It was impounded.

Clayton 230001331: Breaking and entering to a storage shed was reported in the 8100 block of N. Main St.

Sunday, Nov. 12, Clayton 230001343: A Glock 19 handgun with an extended clip, an Apple watch, and an iPhone 6 were stolen from a vehicle at Garden Woods Apartments.

Clayton 230001345: An unknown black male stole four containers of laundry detergent and one container of dish soap at Dollar General and fled on foot north. When the door alarm sounded an employee confronted the male who refused to cooperate an exited the store. Surveillance cameras recorded the male suspect.

Clayton 230001346: Maurice E. Taylor, 38, of Harrison Township, and Mary E. Brown, 41, at large, were both arrested on active warrants. Taylor had warrant out of Englewood and Brown a warrant out of Franklin County. Both were transported to the county jail.

Monday, Nov. 13, Clayton 230001349: Police responded to an injury traffic crash involving two vehicles on Garber Road at Willowcreek Drive. Ryan Amir Emree Freeman, 20, of Dayton 45416, was charged with driving under OVI suspension and was arrested on a warrant out of Miami County. Freeman was transported to West Milton, turned over to Tipp City Police and taken to the Miami County Jail.
