Commissioners approve budget

EATON — Preble County Commissioners approved the county’s budgeted temporary appropriations for fiscal year 2024 at their Wednesday, Dec. 6, regular meeting.

“I would just like to thank the elected officials and the other office holders. They’ve done a nice job of keeping us on track financially. And, I appreciate the work of my fellow commissioners,” Commissioner Adam Craft said.

“And our team here in the office. They did a great job,” Commissioner Rachael Vonderhaar added.

“And the way we’re doing it now to software where they can break down each expense right on through, it rolls through really fast. The sheriff was in here – and what’s he got, five different accounts — the other day. More than that, I don’t know. And we were done in half an hour. Through those, we went down through every one of them. It was really slick,” Commissioner David Haber said.

Commissioners also approved placing on the ballot a renewal of a 2016 tax levy (.6-mills) for Preble County Children Services.
