Trail tops North; Shawnee remains unbeaten

PREBLE COUNTY – National Trail outscored host Tri-County North 17-11 in the fourth quarter to hang on for a 59-51 win on Friday, Dec. 8.

Logan Smith led the way for the Blazer, who led 17-11 after one and 30-23 at the half, with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Tyden Blevins tossed in 13 and grabbed nine rebounds, while Kellen Laird added 13 points, seven assists, five steals and five rebounds.

Travis Williamson led North with 18. Parker Overcash and Logan Flory each added eight.

Trail (2-3, 1-0 WOAC) is scheduled to travel to Bradford on Friday, Dec. 15 and to Carlisle on Saturday, Dec. 16.

North (0-3, 0-1) is scheduled to travel to Tri-Village on Friday, Dec. 15.

Shawnee now 3-0 after weekend sweep

CAMDEN – Preble Shawnee begin defense of its Western Ohio Athletic Conference title with a convincing 65-43 win at Dixie on Friday.

The Arrows led 19-7 after one and were up 39-19 at the break. The Greyhounds cut into the Shawnee lead in the third quarter, outscoring the Arrows 19-10.

In the fourth, Shawnee pulled away for the win.

Mason Shrout led the Arrows with 24 points and nine rebounds. Isaac Blankenship tossed in 17 and Logan Hawley added eight points and seven rebounds. Brody Morton contributed nine points and eight rebounds.

On Saturday, the Arrows played at home for the first time this season and cruised to 62-31 win over Franklin.

Hawley led the Arrows with 18 points and 14 rebounds. Shrout added 15 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists.

Blankenship tossed in 14 and had four steals.

Shawnee (3-0, 1-0 WOAC) is scheduled to host Arcanum on Friday, Dec. 15.
