The following information has been provided by area police departments. The information listed in this column is considered public record and is available to anyone seeking information concerning what is provided below.

For purposes of this column, the term “arrested” or “charged” does not necessarily mean the person was taken into physical custody. It could also indicate that a summons was issued to the subject in lieu of physical custody.

All the people listed as “arrested” or “charged” are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Saturday, Dec. 2, Clayton 230001417: A resident reported that an unknown subject had used his identity in an effort to obtain unemployment benefits from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

Tuesday, Dec. 5, Clayton 230001427: An unknown subject broke the passenger side window on a vehicle at Garden Woods Apartments and stole the stereo system.

Clayton 230001428: An unknown subject broke the front passenger side window on a vehicle parked behind Today’s Headlines Salon in Randolph Plaza and removed a backpack containing a set of Air Pods, a Go Pro, and accessories.

Wednesday, Dec. 6, Clayton 230001432: An officer on patrol discovered the front door of the African Restaurant & Grill in the 8100 block of N. Main St. had its glass shattered. Police entered the business and found the area around the front counter had been ransacked and the cash register on the floor and open. Cash and Pepsi were stolen.

Friday, Dec. 8, Clayton 230001445: An unknown subject entered an unlocked vehicle parked in the 6700 block of Rushleigh Rd. and attempted to peel the steering column and ransacked the interior. The center console and glovebox were both left open. A set of ear buds were stolen.

Clayton 230001446: A 16-year-old male threw a cup out of the window of his vehicle and struck and damaged the driver’s side view mirror on a Milton-Union school bus. A bus video recorded the license plate of the vehicle the cup had been thrown from. Police contacted the mother of the juvenile and advised her to contact the Milton-Union Exempted Village School District transportation department and provide them with her insurance information to take care of the damage.

Clayton 230001447: A 2016 Kia Sportage was stolen from a driveway in the 6600 block of Stranwood Dr. sometime overnight.

Clayton 230001448: Police responded to the 6600 block of Stranwood Dr. on the report of a suspicious unoccupied Kia Sorento with its engine running. The driver’s side passenger window was broken and the steering column had been peeled. Police discovered the vehicle had been stolen from an address in Dayton. The registered owner came to retrieve the vehicle.

Wednesday, Dec. 13, Brookville 2300540: Jamaria L.A. Abrams, 23, of Huber Heights, was charged with speeding and driving under a noncompliance suspension. Her vehicle was impounded. She was provided a courtesy ride to OM Oil and released with a court summons.

Thursday, Dec. 14, Brookville 2300543: A vehicle parked in the 200 block of Vine St. was towed and impounded due to having three outstanding citations for expired registration.
