Breast cancer survivors to be honored

BROOKVILLE — Breast cancer survivors and those being treated for the disease will be recognized for their bravery during a special girls basketball game at Brookville High School.

The high school girls basketball game will be held on Saturday, Jan. 27, beginning with junior varsity at noon and varsity at approximately 1:15 p.m. between Brookville and Oakwood.

This game is to promote Breast Cancer Awareness. The objective for this event is to fill the gym as well as help create awareness for this important cause. They will serve some special treats and have concessions.

Breast cancer survivors and those currently undergoing breast cancer treatment are invited to attend and be recognized for their courageous battle. If you share at the gate that you are a survivor or currently going through treatment, you will be considered a guest and admitted free to the game.

There will also be other donation opportunities to help raise funds to donate. There will be a special raffle for a gift basket as well as the game ball to be auctioned off at the end of the game signed by both teams, as well as other events.

This is a great opportunity to bring two neighboring rival schools together to be involved in something greater than the game. All proceeds will go to the Pink Ribbon Good.
