CARLISLE — Brookville’s wrestling team won a division title and took 2nd place overall at the Southwestern Buckeye League wrestling championships Saturday at Carlisle.
The title was the fifth straight for the Blue Devils.
The Blue Devils amassed 181 points, just six less than 1st place Franklin with 187. Brookville had two wrestlers win their respective weight classes, one place 2nd, three place 3rd, three place 4th, and two place 6th.
106 pounds: Hayden Jones placed 1st with a pin (1:20) against Caleb Middendorf of Ross.
150: Luke Dolan placed 1st with a 10-2 major decision over Ryan Foster of Ross.
285: Trenton Brooks placed 2nd losing by a pin (1:29) to Carter Stack of Oakwood.
157: Branson Esterline placed 3rd by scoring a 5-3 decision over Elijah Thacker of Eaton.
175: Lucas Horn placed 3rd with a pin (1:48) against Jack Neanen-Creech of Eaton.
190: Sam Norby placed 3rd with a 2-1 decision over Matt Roach of Ross.
113: Hunter Gibson placed 4th losing a 4-0 decision to Sawyer Flanagan of Bellbrook.
132: Tanner Sampson placed 4th losing a 4-1 decision to Austin Parker of Ross.
165: Jacob Holland placed 4th losing by a fall (3:22) to Dominic Baker of Oakwood.
126: Colton Harris took 6th place losing by an 18-2 technical fall to Finn Bokros of Oakwood.
138: Alex Richardson placed 6th losing by a fall (0:46) to Caden Hayes of Madison.
Eaton took 9th in the 12 team field with 93.5 points.
190: Presley Stewart was the Eagles lone weight class champion taking 1st at 190 pounds with a pin (2:05) against Brody Bingle of Waynesville.
144: Brayden Deem placed 3rd with an 8-4 decision Samuel Keyes of Oakwood.
157: Elijah Thacker placed 4th after losing a 5-3 decision to Branson Esterline of Brookville.
175: Jack Neanen-Creech placed 4th losing by a fall (1:48) to Lucas Horn of Brookville.
215: Chase Hoefler placed 6th losing by a fall (1:26) to Cody Gunn of Waynesville.
285: Braylen Witt placed 6th after losing an 8-0 major decision to Isaiah Brady of Carlisle.
