BROOKVILLE — City manager Jack Kuntz informed council the North Wolf Creek water main replacement project is tentatively scheduled to begin March 4.

“Material was delivered the week of Feb. 12 in anticipation of the project start date,” Kuntz said.

The project will begin at Arlington Road.

Kuntz said local traffic will be maintained during the entirety of the project.

“Flaggers will be used when needed to ensure safety continues to be maintained throughout the project,” Kuntz said.

Kuntz said the project is scheduled to be completed by late spring.

Once the water main is installed on North Wolf Creek, that same section of roadway is scheduled for resurfacing later this year.

Kuntz also announced the Hay Avenue, Phase 2 project is tentatively scheduled to begin in mid-March to early April.

“This project will begin setting up soon,” Kuntz said.

“More information on the project will be sent out to the general public once we know more exact time frames,” Kuntz continued.

The project will begin north of Mulberry Street.

In other matters, city staff recently held a virtual meeting with representatives of Frontier Communications and TripleD Communications concerning the Frontier’s plans to install fiber optic cable in the city.

TripleD, Frontier’s contractor, began installing the fiber optic cable the last week of January.

Frontier indicated the majority of the installation will be completed by this June.

Door hangers will be placed notifying residents installation work is occurring in their neighborhood.

Frontier states by installing fiber optic cable, residents will:

• provide with ample bandwidth

• provide 125 percent improvement in upgrade speed

• provide .999 percent improvement in network reliability
