The following information has been provided by area police departments. The information listed in this column is considered public record and is available to anyone seeking information concerning what is provided below.

For purposes of this column, the term “arrested” or “charged” does not necessarily mean the person was taken into physical custody. It could also indicate that a summons was issued to the subject in lieu of physical custody.

All the people listed as “arrested” or “charged” are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Friday, Jan. 19, Englewood 240000105: Dusten L. Mowen, 30, of Arcanum, was charged with operating a vehicle intoxicated, driving under suspension, and traveling in marked lanes. He has one prior OVI conviction from September 2023. Mowen was transported to the county jail.

Saturday, Jan. 20, Englewood 240000107: Jeffrey E. Evans, 42, of Englewood, was arrested on a felony warrant and transported to the county jail.

Sunday, Jan. 21, Englewood 240000111: Maurice E. Taylor, 38, of Dayton 45406, was charged with theft at Meijer, issued a court summons and released.

Englewood 240000113: Gary W. Cantrell, 64, of Union, was charged with telecommunications harassment. Charges were forwarded to Vandalia Municipal Court.

Monday, Jan. 22, Englewood 240000112: Shawn G. Lillard, 49, of Dayton 45416, was charged with robbery at Meijer and was arrested on a warrant for receiving stolen property. He was transported to jail.

Thursday, Jan. 25, Englewood 240000135: Cory M. Nichols, 44, at large, was arrested on an active warrant and transported to jail.

Friday, Jan. 26, Englewood 240000136: Joshua Roark, 45, of Harrison Township, was charged with failure to comply and resisting arrest and transported to jail.

Sunday, Feb. 18, Union 24000000072: Jamal J. Staggers, 34, of Union, was arrested on a warrant out of Miamisburg for failure to appear. Staggers was transported to jail.

Sunday, Feb. 25, Clayton 240000192: Eric P. Adams, 30, of Oakwood, was charged with no license plate light and driving under license forfeiture suspension. He was not formally charged with felony possession of a controlled substance pending the outcome of testing by the Miami Valley Regional Crime Laboratory. Adams was taken to the county jail.

Monday, Feb. 26, Union 24000000078: Police responded to a domestic incident in the 100 block of S. Old Mill Rd. No charges were filed.

Tuesday, Feb. 27, Clayton 240000201: Rodney B. Lackey, 68, at large, was charged with driving under child support suspension, driving without a valid license, fictitious license plate, expired license plate, and possession of a controlled substance. Officers also found several vehicle titles with other people’s names on them in Lackey’s vehicle. Lackey was taken to jail.

Thursday, Feb. 29, Brookville 2400052: Police responded to the 500 block of Salem Street on the report of an infant boy in the street by himself. The boy could not provide any information as to where he lived and was wearing only sweat pants and a sweatshirt with no shoes or socks with the temperature 40 degrees outside. The boy’s grandmother called to report him missing. The boy was released to his mother and a representative with Children Services conducted a home visit.

Friday, March 1, Union 24000000084: Police responded to the report of a dog bite in the 700 block of W. Martindale Rd.

Monday, March 4, Union 24000000087: A warrant was issued for the arrest of Amazon employee Michael D. Cohens, 39, of Dayton 45417, who was recorded by security camera stealing a Google Pixel 8 cell phone that was supposed to be shipped to a customer.
