Blue Devils snap three game skid

CRESTVIEW, Fla. — The Brookville varsity baseball team snapped a three game losing streak Wednesday with a 6-1 victory against the Bath County Wildcats at Crestview High School.

The Blue Devils had won all four of their games in Ohio outscoring opponents by a combined total of 52-22. In their first three game in Florida the Devils had been outscored 28-4.

Nathan Waggoner picked up the victory against Bath County. He pitched six innings, gave up one hit, one earned run, one walk and struck out eight, but hit four batters with errant pitches.

The Wildcats scored their lone run in the top of the first inning on a walk, a hit batter, and an RBI single by Braden Roussous.

Brookville took the lead 2-1 in the bottom of the 1st after Fullenkamp doubled and Lucas Horn walked, each scoring one run. The Blue Devils added a run in the bottom of the fifth and two in the sixth.

Sam Fullenkamp led Brookville with three hits in a four at bats. He hit an RBI double in the first inning, an RBI single in the second, and tripled in the fifth inning and later scored when Landon Trent hit into a fielder’s choice.

Braden Chambers also got three hits in four at bats with one RBI and scored two runs. Trent went two for three with an RBI.

Brayden Crouch took the loss for Bath County pitching six innings, giving up six runs on 10 hits with three strike outs and two walks.
