Planners approve mobile food trucks

BROOKVILLE — Planning commission approved special usage requests for three mobile food trucks.

The food trucks will be located in the municipal parking lot located on Arlington Road.

Planner commission approved a special use request from vendor Derrick Sturgill,of Eaton, for his East Mesa Barbeque truck.

Sturgill said it is his first time seeking a permit to set up his truck in Brookville.

“We will probably set up in the parking lot two to three times a month,” Sturgill said.

Sturgill said his menu includes smoked ribs, brisket and pulled pork.

Planning commission approved a special use permit from vendor Joshua O’Brien, of Dayton, for his O’Brien Burger and Hot Dog truck.

“Joshua O’Brien has operated his mobile food truck at this site in 2023 and there were no issues with his operation last year,” Brookville Law Director Rod Stephan said.

Planning commission approved a special use permit from David Williamson, of Brookville, for the Cali-OH Eats mobile food truck.

“They operated there in 2023 on a limited basis. They are very busy at other sites and for special events,” Stephan said.

Stephan noted mobile food vendors are a special use permitted to set up their mobile trucks in the municipal parking lot.
