The following information has been provided by area police departments. The information listed in this column is considered public record and is available to anyone seeking information concerning what is provided below.

For purposes of this column, the term “arrested” or “charged” does not necessarily mean the person was taken into physical custody. It could also indicate that a summons was issued to the subject in lieu of physical custody.

All the people listed as “arrested” or “charged” are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Saturday, March 16, Brookville 2400070: Timothy E. Brown, 40, of Troy, was arrested on a felony warrant for a probation violation issued by Greene County Court of Common Pleas. Brown was transported to the Montgomery County Jail to await extradition.

Wednesday, March 20, Brookville 2400076: An officer responded to Brookville High School on the report of a past occurred assault involving a boyfriend and girlfriend. A review of security footage did not contain any evidence of an assault, but a verbal argument did take place. Both students were instructed by police not to have any further contact with each other.

Sunday, March 24, Brookville 2400081: Two women and three men were trespassed from a home for sale on Heckathorn Road at the request of the property owner.

Clayton 240000312: The theft of a license plate was reported in the 8300 block of N. Main St. The Ohio plate, HWX2805, was stolen from a 2009 Honda Fit. The local Law Enforcement Intelligence Database recently captured an image of plate attached to a white Ford Fusion.

Clayton 240000314: Officers responded to Cottages of Clayton on a trespassing complaint. Officers found a male subject on the front porch of one of the buildings. Staff stated the male entered through an unlocked door, claimed he had a room, demanded staff cook him food, and stated he was a felon and had knives. The male believed he had invested in the building and could be there. He also believed one of the cars in the parking lot belonged to him. Police issued the male a trespass warning and provided him a courtesy ride to McDonald’s in Englewood.

Monday, March 25, Clayton 240000319: Officers responded to Dayton Eyecare Inc., on a trespassing complaint. Englewood Police dropped off an older white male at the business so that he could allegedly make a down payment on a pair of glasses. The male was asking customers for money to purchase a pack of cigarettes. The same male had previously been trespassed from Cottages of Clayton. The male was issued a trespass warning and transported to Eastway Corporation on Wayne Avenue in Dayton to speak to with his case worker.

Clayton 240000321: Police were dispatched to the 7100 block of Maynard Ave. for a follow-up on a dog at large complaint. A heated exchange had taken place between the resident that filed the complaint and the owner of the dog. The complainant wanted police to issue a verbal trespass warning to the dog owner. An officer issued a written criminal warning to the owner for having a dog at large and a verbal warning for trespassing.

Wednesday, March 27, Clayton 240000325: An unknown male subject weighing approximately 350 pounds entered Dollar General and stole merchandise totaling approximately $96. He got into a white Ford Expedition and fled south on Main Street. A law enforcement Flock camera at the Westbrook and Main intersection recorded the vehicle. The vehicle displayed a Pennsylvania license plate. A store employee also took photos of the suspect. Charges are pending.
