Senior edition: we want more!

More….2024….we want more!

What is more? What does more even mean? The Merriam-Webster dictionary the definition of more is a great quantity, number, or amount. So how can we have more in 2024? Why are we always asking for more or why isn’t what we already have enough? These are great questions, but I’m not so sure there is any one correct answer. We all think so differently and want or need different things. We can all agree that there is a difference between want and need but sometimes figuring that out is hard as well.

But at PCCOA, I believe we are off to a great start at providing or giving more. We are going to be offering more space for our seniors at the center, we are going to offer more activities, more meals, more socialization opportunities, more information, and just more of about everything. We want to give more to our seniors, and we know that in 2030, 1 in 3 people will be 60 or older and currently it is 1 in 4. I’d say we are on schedule with our 2024 theme of “More.”

Here’s the question for you all: What is more for you? What else would you like to see at the center? We want to know. So let us know, we are open to ideas and suggestions.

If you want to be a donor towards the Senior Center Expansion, we are still accepting donations. You can donate by mail, stopping in, calling us, or even online on our website. We appreciate and thank everyone who has donated to the expansion. Thank you!

The center has plenty of opportunities available to you on just about anything. If there is a topic that you would like to hear about, please let us know and we will try our best to make that happen. We’d love to see you come on down to the Senior Center for some fun, food, and socialization. It’s a wonderful place where you can connect with someone or get involved with something. Don’t forget that you can become a member for just $10 a year and you will stay up to date with all of our events and happenings. Membership is valid from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31. We are looking forward to seeing you visit us soon!
