Lady Devils sweep series with Middletown Madison

BROOKVILLE — With a 6-2 victory Wednesday the Lady Devils softball team swept the season series with Middletown Madison.

Brookville defeated Madson 15-4 on the road Monday. Pitcher Grace Burton worked six and one third innings, scattered six hits, allowed two runs, with no walks and 10 strike outs.

Burton also went four for five with two doubles and a home run, scored twice and had four RBIs. Isabelle Holp went two for four with a double, one run and one RBI. Melina Davidson also went two for four with a run and one RBI.

Melina Lucente went two for three with a run and one RBI. Jordyn Oliver went one for three with one run. Rylan Eagle went one for four with one run and one RBI. Makenzie Roesser went two for five with one RBI. Kara Gardner went zero for five but scored two runs and had two RBIs.

Baylee Constance took the loss for Madison. She pitched five and one-third innings, allowed 11 hits, eight runs (six earned) with no walks and three strike outs. Reliever Samantha Swartz pitched one and two-thirds innings, allowed three hits, seven runs (four earned) with four walks and one strike out.

Abigail Phelps led Middletown going one for three with a home run. Savannah Young went one for three with a run and two RBIs.

Wednesday night the Lady Devils completed the series sweep with a 6-2 win against the Lady Mohawks. Burton pitched all seven innings, allowed seven hits, two runs with no walks and eight strike outs. She also went two for three with two doubles.

Isabelle Holp went two for three with one RBI. Maya Haydon went one for three with two RBIs. Makenzie Roesser went two for three. Melina Davidson, Kara Garner, and Jordyn Oliver went one for three and scored one run each. Rylan Eagle went one for three with two RBIs.

Morgan Priest went one for three with a home run to lead Madison. Samantha Swartz took the loss for Madison. She pitched two and one-thirds innings, gave up two hits and two runs with five walks and one strike out.

Brookville improved to 9-3 overall and 5-2 in league play while Madison fell to 2-6 and 0-4.
