Blue Devils post shutout wins vs. Madison

BROOKVILLE — A pair of strong pitching performances enabled Brookville to post back-to-back shutout victories against Middletown Madison.

Wednesday the Blue Devils posted a 3-0 win at Madison with Hunter Gray on the mound. Gray allowed no hits and no runs in seven innings of work with four walks and seven strikeouts.

Nathan Waggoner went three for four with one RBI. Cole Crabtree went one for three with a stolen base and two RBIs. Braden Chambers went one for four with a double and scored one run. Jace Wood went one for three. Kayde Baker drew a walk and scored one run.

Friday at home Nathan Waggoner pitched six innings, allowed only two hits with four walks and eight strike outs as the Devils posted a 7-0 victory. Waggoner also went two for four at the plate with two RBIs.

Coltin Lawson went two for four with a double and scored twice. Sam Fullenkamp went two for four with a stolen base and scored one run. Kayde Baker went one for four with two RBIs. Seth Hoover went one for three with one run.

Jace Wood went one for two with one run. Lane Willoughby went one for two and Braden Chambers drove in two runs and scored one run.

Zane Sproat took the loss for Madison. He pitched five innings, gave up seven hits and two earned runs with a walk and four strike outs.

With the victory Brookville improved to 9-5 overall and 3-1 in the Southwestern Buckeye League. Madison fell to 4-4 and 1-3.
