CPD reports on recent arrests

CAMDEN — Camden Police Chief Matt Spurlock recently released his monthly report of department activity.

“We continue to see an increase in criminal behavior and we have put in place multiple ways to combat this,” Spurlock said in a press release last week. “Our officers will continue with their aggressive patrol.”

Recent reports included:

June 7 – John A. Bown, 57, of Camden – Officers responded to a call of a domestic violence between Bown and his girlfriend. Upon arrival Bown was highly intoxicated and would not respond to officers commands. Bown continued to be disorderly during the investigation. Bown was taken into custody and housed at the Preble County Jail for aggravated disorderly and resisting arrest.

June 8 – Jason Simpson, 38, of Camden – Officers responded to Simpson’s address to serve an active arrest warrant. Simpson was taken into custody without incident. Upon searching Simpson after his arrest a methamphetamine pipe was located in his possession.

June 11 — Matthew K. Eby, 38, of College Corner – Officers encountered Eby on Liberty Street and had prior knowledge of an active arrest warrant. Eby was taken into custody and housed at the Preble County Jail.

June 16 — Michael Laramore , 33, of Eaton – Officers made contact with Laramore on Bloomfield St. after learning he had a warrant for his arrest. After Laramore’s arrest he was found to be in possession of drugs. Laramore was housed for his warrant and possession of drugs.

June 26 – Willie J. Asher, 44, and Tina Roberts, 33, both of Camden — Roberts and Asher were encountered by officers while investigating suspicious activity. After making contact consent to search was given and both persons were found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Roberts and Asher were transported and housed at the Preble County Jail on those charges.

June 28 – Tyler M. Wyatt, 21, of Camden – Officers made contact with Wyatt in the 100 block of E. Central Ave. Wyatt had an active warrant for his arrest. Wyatt was taken into custody without incident.

July 7 – Jason Weinstiger, 27, of Camden – Officers responded to the 600 block of McGuire Dr. on report of a person trespassing. Officers encountered Weinstiger on the property and he was taken into custody for criminal trespass. After his arrest Weinstiger was found to be in possession of drugs. Weinstiger was transported to the jail and housed on criminal trespass and possession of drugs.

July 9 – Nathan Duff, 38, of Camden – Officers responded to a report of a theft in the 200 block of N. Main St. Officers made contact with Duff and found him to be in possession of property which did not belong to him. Duff was arrested for theft without incident.

July 11 – Jason V. Peters, 36, of Camden – Officers made contact with Peters in the 200 block of W. Central Ave. Peters was taken into custody for an active arrest warrant.

July 15 – Dale Lakes, 58, of Oxford – Officers responded to report of an assault in the 100 Block of S. Lafayette St. After investigation it was determined Lakes, who was highly intoxicated, did strike his victim multiple times. Lakes was transported and booked in the jail on assault and disorderly conduct charges.

July 16 – Adam A. Adams, 38, of Camden – Officers made contact with Adams after a traffic violation. After speaking with Adams he allowed officers to search his person and was found to have a syringe concealed on his person. Adams was also in possession of multiple items of drug paraphernalia. Adams was placed under arrest and was jailed on charges of

Possessing drug abuse instruments and two counts of drug paraphernalia.
