KETTERING — On Saturday, Jan. 22, members of the Eaton High School Winterguard traveled to Kettering’s new ballet studio, Modern Elements, owned by Kelly Dailey, to take a ballet class.

“Little did they know that they would be in the presence of such a celebrity in the dance world,” Winterguard Coach Lisa White said in a recent press release. “Adam Boreland is the director of the well known group on social media with 340,000 followers, ‘Dance Accepts Everyone.’”

According to White, Boreland has been a part of the professional ballet world for over 15 years. “He is a proud first student of Sell’s Broadway Dance Company. Adam trained at San Francisco Ballet School & Orlando Ballet School. He held professional contracts at Texas Ballet Theater & Orlando Ballet along with guesting around the United States,” she said. “He has been blessed with dancing principal roles in ballets such as Swan Lake, Cinderella, Val Caniparoli’s Lambarena, Glenn Tetley‘s Voluntaries, The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty, Jorden Morris Productions Moulin Rouge, and Peter Pan.”

Boreland is proud to be the creator and founder of the Dance Accepts Everyone Facebook Group, White noted, “a safe, non-judgmental place for all dancers seeking to connect, inspire and love through dance.”

“Dance is for everyone! All sizes, all ages, all ethnicities and disabilities. Dance Accepts Everyone truly spreads the message of acceptance and that is so important,” White said.

The Eaton High School Winterguard begins its season on Jan. 30, competing in the Mid Eastern Performance Association.
