Kierston’s Coffeestop opens in West Alexandria

WEST ALEXANDRIA — Kierston’s Coffee Stop, located at 12 S. Main Street, West Alexandria, held its grand opening and ribbon cutting on Jan. 20.

In addition to the ribbon cutting, held by the Preble County Chamber of Commerce, Ohio Representative J. Todd Smith presented owners Daniel and Sherry Foster with a commendation from the Ohio House of Representatives.

Kierston’s Coffee Stop is named after owners Daniel and Sherry Foster’s daughter Kierston. According to Daniel Foster, they purchased the property approximately a year and a half ago. They remodeled the apartments above the shop first and started remodeling the downstairs a year ago.

They didn’t intend to open a coffee shop with the downstairs property, but when brainstorming ideas to do with the space, their daughter Kierston suggested a coffee shop.

“There wasn’t a coffee shop [in West Alexandria], although there are ones in the surrounding areas. There is pretty good traffic around here and we figured you don’t know until you try,” he said.

As for business on their opening day, Daniel Foster said it was slow in the morning, but during the afternoon they got extremely busy.

Currently, Kierston’s Coffee Stop does not have cold brew or iced coffee, however, they will be expanding their menu in the coming months. Another addition to look for is wine, since they do have their license, but haven’t implemented that addition to their menu quite yet. They currently offer various coffee drinks, but are also a good spot for lunch, as they have items including paninis, wraps, salads, quesadillas, walking tacos, and soup.

“We will definitely be adding more as time goes on,” he said.

Daniel Foster believes Kierston’s Coffee Stop will be a great addition to the community and they look forward to serving all who stop in.

“I think we have very good coffee, the atmosphere is good, we have great food, and it is important to support your local community. People should definitely come out and try Kierston’s Coffee Stop! Give us a chance, hopefully you’ll have a good experience,” he said.

Kierston’s Coffee Stop is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., and closed on Sundays. Additional information can be found at Kierston’s Coffee Stop on Facebook or by calling 937-839-9002.
