Camden Family Lions Club offers volunteer opportunities for families

CAMDEN — The Camden Family Lions Club has formally announced its reorganization with the induction of nine new members to its ranks.

At its latest meeting on Monday, June 15, the club inducted its three newest club members.

“This is an exciting time for our club as we have made some very exciting changes to our club’s structure and focus. We are now welcoming and encouraging families to join us in service to our community,” the club said in a press release. “This new concept allows families to spend quality time together while volunteering on community projects as members of Lions Club International. Ours is the first club of its kind in Southwest Ohio.”

Lions Club International, established in 1917, is the largest service organization in the world. Its focus is on helping those in need, wherever there is a need. Its motto is, “Where there’s a need, there’s a Lion.”

The Camden Family Lions Club exists to help serve members of the local community, and beyond, if needed.

“Lions have been proudly serving the Camden community since 1948 and our famous black walnut ice cream has been a staple at Camden’s Black Walnut festival for years. Since our reorganization, we have already served in a variety of ways, from providing assistance to those with vision problems and collecting used eye glasses, to donating funds and non-perishable goods to local food pantries. By volunteering and serving as a family, we hope to instill in the next generation, the importance of helping others and having fun while doing it,” the release noted.
