EATON — Sid Davis, an Eaton native and 1976 Eaton High School graduate, will come home on Saturday, Oct. 17, to perform his comedy act at the American Legion Post 215.
“I love doing these shows at these places, at these venues. There are a lot of people that will go see a show at the American Legion that are either kind of intimidated or turned off or have never been to a comedy club,” said Davis. “They will come out to this because there are a lot of people they know and they feel comfortable. The audiences are just absolutely fabulous at these types of shows. I’m looking very forward to it.”
Davis is no stranger to comedy in the area though, as the funnyman was the headliner at Wiley’s Comedy Club in Dayton from 2013 through 2014.
And while he was late to join the comedy game, jumping in at the age of 47, the spotlight has still managed to find Davis.
“I didn’t realize the obstacles I’d face. It’s a young man’s game,” he said.
He has opened up for comedy giant Joan Rivers, as well as Billy Gardell (from Mike & Molly fame) and Bobcat Goldwaith.
Davis has also been brought on as host for a new comedy talk show to Netflix, titled Over My Dead Body, slated to come out in February.
His humor is self-described as being PG-17 – neither “hacky” nor vulgar, but still intended for a slightly older audience.
Tickets are $14 and still available for purchase. Those interested can call 937-456-5767 for more information.
It is recommended by the American Legion that tickets be purchased ahead of time. Those showing up to the show without a ticket will not be guaranteed entry.
