‘OZ!’ at NTHS

The National Trail High School Players will present “OZ!” on Friday, Feb. 26 and Saturday, Feb. 27, at 7 p.m. in the National Trail Cafetorium. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. All seats are $6. Babies under age 5, who will be seated in a lap, are free. The presentation will feature the National Trail Elementary School fourth graders as the Munchkins.

Kindergarten registration

Hollingsworth East Elementary School in Eaton will hold kindergarten registration for the 2016-17 school year, March 7-9. When registering, parents are required to bring their child’s birth certificate, immunization record, proof of residency, and any custody documents that apply.

Children must be five years of age prior to Aug. 1, to enroll. Registration hours are March 7 and March 9, from 9-11:30 a.m. and 12:30-3 p.m. Evening registration will take place on Tuesday, March 8, from 4-7 p.m. Parents may call the school office at 456-5173 with question about kindergarten registration.

PSBOE special meeting

The Preble Shawnee Local School District Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Monday, March 7, to conduct interviews for the position of superintendent and any other business to come before the board.

The board will conduct the interviews in executive session.

The meeting will begin at 5 p.m. and will be held in the Board of Education Office, 124 Bloomfield St., Camden.

Folk & Fancy

The EACC is gearing up for the spring Folk & Fancy concert, which will be held in the Eaton Performing Arts Center on Sunday, May 15 at 3 p.m. All interested singers in the area are invited to sing in this organization. No audition is required. Rehearsals will begin Thursday, March 3, at 7 p.m. in the Eaton High School vocal music room. The choir will rehearse on Thursday, evenings until the concert in May. Turkey shoot

The first turkey shoot for 2016, sponsored by Twin Valley Rod & Gun Club, will be Sunday, Feb. 28, on the club grounds. Other shoots scheduled are March 6, 13, 20, April 3, 10, 17 and 24. All shoots begin at 1 p.m. Shooters and the public are invited to attend.

SWCD meeting

The February 2016 Preble Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors meeting will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 7 a.m. at the office, 1651 N. Barron St., Eaton. Vaccines for Children program changes

As of Jan. 1, Preble County Public Health will no longer be able to provide state purchased vaccine to those individuals covered by commercial insurance policies. The department will continue to vaccinate these individuals but at a higher cost due to having to purchase the vaccine, according to officials. The Preble County Public Health Immunization Clinic is able to bill Anthem, UMR, United Healthcare, Medical Mutual, Medicaid and the Medicaid Managed Care Plans.
