CAMDEN — Camden Village Council added its seventh member during its bi-monthly meeting, Thursday, May 19. The election of a new member would normally be made by a majority vote from council, but in this case, council missed the appointed deadline for the vote, which defaulted the decision to Mayor Toni Keesler.
Mayor Keesler chose Carla Risner of Camden from three announced candidates, and proceeded to swear Risner in under oath.
“I’m really excited to be a part of, what I feel like, is a very good group of members.” Risner said of joining council. “I just want to do my part to be a voice for the community and make good changes.”
Risner works as an Orthopedic Surgical First Assistant at Fort Hamilton Hospital, and also owns Risner Cleaning with her spouse, Sarah Risner.
