PREBLE COUNTY — The Preble County Park District has announced the appointment of Kaylee Jo Lebo as a new Park District Commissioner, effective June 3.
Judge Jenifer K. Overmyer of the Preble County Probate Court made the appointment to replace former Commissioner Thomas McQuiston who retired in May after 17 years of service. She joins Steve Simmons and Jeff Sewert as commissioner.
Lebo has a masters in business administration from the University of Dayton and a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Currently, she serves as a Preble County 4-H advisor. She is the operations manager of 13 years at Protective Coatings Inc., a general construction contractor in Dayton. Lebo also served as a committee member of the Bullen Equestrian Center project. She is currently working on an initiative for early education in Preble County.
The Lebo Family Farm is located in Lewisburg. Her husband, Cody Lebo and two sons, Kendall and Corbin support her. Together they enjoy showing horses, camping, hiking and anything outdoors.
Kaylee loves living in Preble County. She is looking forward to serving as a commissioner of the Preble County Park District. “As a child, nature was always on my heart and had a huge passion for it then,” she said. “My career took me other places but I believe God planted this seed in my heart then. I cannot wait to honor that by serving the Preble County Park District.”
“The Preble County Park District is happy to have Kaylee Jo Lebo with us and we look forward to the future success of our parks, the Allen and Adeline Garber Nature Center in Lewisburg and the Devil’s Backbone in Camden,” PCPD officials said in a press release last week.
The Preble County Park District is currently developing its second Preble County park at Devil’s Backbone, located west of Camden on Ohio 725. Trail work is nearly complete with two hiking trails throughout the property. Herbert and Patricia Wagers donated the Devil’s Backbone property. Their son, Herb Wagers continues to be involved in developing the park in honor of his parents.
The Preble County Park District Board meets the first Friday of every month at 9 a.m. at the Eaton City Municipal Building, 328 N. Maple St., Eaton. The next meeting will be July 1. The public is welcome to attend.
