EATON — Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) of Preble County are celebrating 20 years of service. CASA is planning a celebration and will have more information in the near future.
The program was started in 2002 by Elaine Mullins under Judge Dues. Jane Marshall took the first case in December 2002, and Sarah Ile took the second in January 2003.
Anyone wanting to make a positive impact in the life of a child in foster care is invited to volunteer. Classes will be held in July and October. Qualified candidates will be over 21 years of age and must pass a background check. Volunteers will receive 30 hrs of training and are expected to attend 12 hrs of continuing education per year.
