WA Celebration Committee

West Alexandria Celebration Committee will meet at Kierston’s Coffeestop on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 5 p.m. at 12 S. Main St. Anyone who would like to be a part of this wonderful committee is welcome to attend. The committee raises funds to help pay for the July 4 fireworks and Party in the Park, Santa Villa, and will be taking over the Oktoberfest, formerly known as the Kiwanis Oktoberfest.

Venison for Food Banks

The Venison for Food Banks of Preble County program is on-going. Anyone who takes a deer can donate all or part of the meat for the Food Banks. BINGO

West Alexandria Fire Dept. BINGO takes place every Thursday. Doors open at 5 p.m. with open seating; first come, first served. Early bird games start at 6 p.m. to help those coming after work. All players must be 18 or over. We have several progressive games going on at 25 E. Dayton Street. Find on Facebook for updates or cancelations.

Coffeehouse Conversations

Kierston’s Coffeestop, located at 12 S. Main Street, is hosting Coffeehouse Conversations every Monday evening from 7-8 p.m. Everyone is invited to stop in for complimentary coffee, a cookie, or baked-good. Bring a friend and pull up a chair for an open, honest, and friendly conversation about faith, life, and today’s social issues and how they relate to the Bible, with a local pastor.

Sweetheart Dance featuring Flat Out will be Saturday, Feb. 18, from 7:30-11:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person. A limited number of tickets are available pre-sale.

Euchre every Wednesday at 7 p.m. $5 entry fee, Ladies Night, and 50/50 raffle is open to the public.

Sr. Fun Bunch meets every Thursday from 1-4 p.m.

Big Bang Comedy Show, featuring Preble County native Sid Davis and Special Guest Gali Kroup, will take place Saturday, Feb. 25, at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. Cost is $20 per person. A limited-menu dinner will be available at an additional cost at Ohio 503 South.

Senior Fun Bunch meets every Thursday from 1-4 p.m.

Foodbank

The Foodbank continues to be open regular hours from 10 a.m. to noon, on Mondays and Wednesdays at St. John Church, 20 E. South Street. Urgent needs are: Urgent needs are: macaroni and cheese boxed dinners, spaghetti sauce and spaghetti noodles. Other needed items include chicken noodle soup, vegetable soup, pork and beans, egg noodles, tuna, canned vegetables, corn, peas, green beans, shampoo and conditioner, toilet paper, and toothpaste. Contact the Foodbank at 937-839-1615 for additional information. Anyone in need of food may come to the Foodbank and remain outside in your vehicle. We are thankful for the continuing support of our community and look forward to serving you.

World Day of Prayer

Salem Lutheran Church

The women provide a meal to the homeless shelter in Eaton on the fourth Monday of every month.

Salem Kids, for children ages 3 through the sixth grade, meets each Wednesday, with a meal at 6 p.m. and lessons from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Salem Kids will not meet during the Lenten season, beginning Feb. 22, so families are able to attend Lenten dinners and services together.

Lenten Meals begin Ash Wednesday, Feb. 22, and continue every Wednesday through March 29 from 5:30 p.m. until 6:45 p.m.

The Congregational Annual Meeting has been rescheduled for Sunday, Feb. 26, after the worship service.

Lenten Worship Services will take place at 7 p.m. every Wednesday evening through March 29.

The Men’s Breakfast and Bible Study group meets at 7:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall every third Saturday, next on Feb. 18. For more information, contact Jack Walker at 937-733-3438.

High school and middle school Bible Study takes place every Sunday at 6:30 p.m.
