BROOKVILLE — Ryan Clemmons has been awarded the highest honor in scouting, the Eagle rank. Clemmons is a member of Troop 47, which is based in Brookville.

He started his career in scouting in 2013. He received the Arrow of Light, the highest award for Cub Scouts, in 2018.

During his scouting career, he earned 39 merit badges and accumulated 208 service hours. Clemmons served as Quartermaster, Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, and Scribe. He is currently serving as Webmaster and Merit Badge Guide for the troop.

For his Eagle Scout service project, Clemmons built a GaGa pit at Westbrook Park. The project involved a total of 19 scout and non-scout volunteers in completing.

Westbrook Park was chosen for the location because there are over 300 kids participating in soccer programs there each spring and fall.

Clemmons is a sophomore at Brookville High School. He is an honor student taking accelerated and College Credit Plus classes. He plays both high school and club soccer.

Clemmons also co-authored a local history book called, A Vintage Postcard Tour of Brookville, Ohio. The proceeds from the book are being used to fund park projects. After high school, Clemmons plans to study Computer Science.

He is the son of Todd and Anna Vida Clemmons of Brookville.
