Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt

The Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt will take place Saturday, April 8, promptly at 1 p.m. on the west side practice field behind Twin Valley South School facilities. Bring your own basket to collect the hidden eggs in. There are prizes for each age category, including walking through age 3, ages 4-6 and ages 7-12.

Daddy Daughter Dance

Alpha Kappa Sorority is hosting a “Party Like a Pineapple” Father/Daughter dance at Twin Valley South, April 22, from 6-8 p.m. in the TVS Commons. Tickets are pre-sale only in the TVS Elementary School Office. Registration closes on April 16. Cost of a ticket is $20 and will admit Dad with all of his K-6 daughters. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Photos begin at 5:30 p.m. Ticket includes a 6×6 photo, light refreshments and the venue.

Dayton Dragons Tickets

West Alexandria Kiwanis is selling Dayton Dragon stadium seat tickets for the May 19, 7:05 p.m. game for $14 each. They play Ft. Wayne. Contact Wanda DeVilbiss at 937-361-6865.

American Legion Post 322

SAL Fish Fry is Saturday, April 15, from 5-7 p.m. It’s all you can eat for $12.

Euchre every Wednesday at 7 p.m. $5 entry fee, Ladies Night, drink specials, and 50/50 raffle is open to the public.

Sr. Fun Bunch meets every Thursday from 1-4 p.m.

Rock the Jukebox the third Friday of every month at the James E. Ryan American Legion Post 322, 1477 OH 503 South.

BINGO

The West Alexandria Fire Dept. BINGO takes place every Thursday. Doors open at 5 p.m. with open seating; first come, first served. Early Bird Games start at 6p.m. to help those coming after work. All players must be 18 or over. We have several progressive games going on at 25 E. Dayton Street. Find on Facebook for updates or cancelations.

Coffeehouse Conversations

Kierston’s Coffeestop, located at 12 S. Main Street, is hosting Coffeehouse Conversations every Monday evening from 7-8 p.m. Everyone is invited to stop in for complimentary coffee, a cookie, or baked-good. Bring a friend and pull up a chair for an open, honest, and friendly conversation about faith, life, and today’s social issues and how they relate to the Bible, with a local pastor.

Ladies Line Dancing

Ladies Line Dancing takes place every Monday night at 6:30 p.m. in the Town Hall Basement, at 16 N. Main St., with parking available across the street. There is something for everyone at no charge. Dress comfortably and bring a water. It’s a great opportunity to have fun, learn something new and make some new friends. Foodbank

The Foodbank continues to be open regular hours from 10 a.m. to noon, on Mondays and Wednesdays at St. John Church, 20 E. South Street. Needed items include canned soups, boxed mac’n cheese, Hunt’s spaghetti sauce, spaghetti noodles, pork and beans, egg noodles, canned tuna, canned vegetables, shampoo, conditioner, toilet paper and toothpaste. Contact the Foodbank at 839-1615 for additional information. Anyone in need of food may come to the Foodbank and remain outside in your vehicle. We are thankful for the continuing support of our community and look forward to serving you.

LEGO Club meets the last Saturday of the month from 12-1 p.m. If you bring LEGOs from home, please bring them in a container labeled with your child’s name.

Spring Friends of the Library Book Sale is April 24-29. See our variety of books for all ages, DVDs, music, audiobooks and more. All sales are donations only and help provide funds for library programming.

Salem Lutheran Church

Easter Sunday, April 9, begins with a sunrise service at 7:30 a.m. followed by breakfast, Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and worship at 10:30 a.m. with Holy Communion.

Salem Kids, for children ages 3 through the sixth grade, will meet each Wednesday, again, beginning on April 12, for a meal at 6 p.m. and fun, Biblical lessons from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

The Youth Yard Sale will take place Saturday, April 22, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sunday, April 23, from 12:30-4 p.m.

Salem Youth would like to say a great big thank-you to everyone who participated in the dessert auction on March 19. Over $4,000 was raised to help fund the summer trip to Florida to fix homes devastated by the last round of hurricanes.

High school and middle school Bible study takes place every Sunday at 6:30 p.m.

The Men’s Breakfast and Bible Study will meet Saturday, April 15, at 7:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
