Blood drives coming up at schools next week

DAYTON, Ohio — Save some vacation time for helping saving lives and get the new “Sunshine & Saving Lives” beach towel when donating at one of two community blood drives next week.

Donate at the National Trail High School community blood drive Monday, May 1, from 8 a.m. to nooon at 6940 Oxford-Gettysburg Road, New Paris, or at the Preble Shawnee High School community blood drive Friday, May 5, from 8 a.m. to noon p.m. at 5495 Somers Gratis Road, Camden.

Make an appointment online at www.DonorTime.com, call 937-461-3220, or use the Donor Time app. Register to donate blood with CBC May 1-July 1, and get the ‘Sunshine & Saving Lives’ towel for the beach, lake, or pool.

Save time when donating by downloading the Donor Time app. Donors can also use “DonorXPress” to complete the donor questionnaire before arriving at a blood drive. Find DonorXPress on the Donor Time App or at www.givingblood.org/donorxpress.

Blood donation requirements: Donors are required to provide a photo ID that includes their full name. Past CBC donors are also asked to bring their CBC donor ID card. Donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 years old with parental consent: form available at www.givingblood.org or at the Dayton CBC and mobile blood drive locations), weigh a minimum of 110 pounds (donors may have to weigh more depending on height), and be in good physical health.
