EATON — During the “Free Cone Event” on March 20, Eaton Dairy Queen Grill & Chill held a “Dip an ice cream cone for a $1” fundraiser to support The Preble Humane Society.

DQ Fans could dip their free cone in either chocolate, cherry, or churro flavor for a $1 donation. The Eaton Dairy Queen was able to donate a total of $375 to the Preble County Humane Society.

The animal shelter has a 40-plus-year history in Eaton. It is run entirely on public donations, adoption fees and membership fees.

“They do not receive any grants or county funding whatsoever and work hard to put every dime into finding our awesome animals the homes they deserve,” a DQ press release noted. “Since they are a no-kill facility, that means they keep the dogs they take in until they find their truly perfect-for-them family,” it continued.
