WEST ALEXANDRIA — The West Alexandria Celebration Committee recently decided to bring back the Ole Fashioned Jamboree, as announced by committee member Zach Shafer.

“The West Alexandria Celebration Committee is excited and proud to announce the return of the Ole Fashioned Jamboree. The announcement comes after 43 years of the absence of the Jamboree in downtown West Alexandria, the event that was originally started as a catalyst to help fund the construction and operation of the West Alexandria Swimming Pool,” Shafer said.

“It is making its return to help fund a different community celebration. The Celebration Committee will be using funds from this fun event to support the Party in the Park and Spectacular Fireworks Celebration on July Fourth every year.”

Shafer went on to add, “Event organizers are so grateful for the support they have received from the community’s members, and the Village of West Alexandria. This event will last Wednesday, April 26, until Saturday, April 29.”

According to Shafer, the Jamboree will take place along U.S. 35. There will be a street carnival hosting numerous rides and attractions, midway games, food and desert trailers, craft vendors and will host a car show on Saturday from 2-5 p.m.

“We are so blessed to be able to bring back such a historic and memorable event that has been gone for so long in our town,” Shafer said.

The West Alexandria Celebration Committee annually hosts and coordinates the Party in the Park, Fourth of July Fireworks, Oktoberfest, Santa Villa and will now be adding the Ole Fashioned Jamboree to their yearly lineup. The committee is comprised of village residents and officials dedicated to the betterment of West Alexandria.

“Find us on Facebook to follow and stay up to date on our events, at the ‘West Alexandria Celebration Committee.’ If you are interested in donation, volunteering or becoming a vendor please reach out today,” Shafer concluded.
