T’bolts defeat Beavers, lose next two

BEAVERCREEK — Nate Teller pitched a five hit shutout Monday, May 8 at Beavercreek and went 1-for-2 at bat and scored a run to help lead Northmont to a 2-0 victory.

Teller struck out six with no walks in seven innings of work.

Jacob Beck went 1-for-3 with a double and one RBI. Jamir Ross went 1-for-3, scored a run and had one RBI. A.J. Conti, and Andrew Shingler also had base hits.

Northmont scored both of its runs in the first inning. With the win the Thunderbolts improved to 14-8 overall and 7-6 in conference play while the Beavers fell to 13-9 and 6-8.

On May 9 Northmont lost 4-2 at Miamisburg. The Thunderbolts scored one run in the second and fifth innings while the Vikings tallied one run in the first, second, fourth and sixth innings.

Preston Barr led Miamisburg by going 3-for-4 with one run and two RBIs. He also pitched four innings and gave up no hits, issued two walks and struck out nine. Braydon Cowsert, one inning, and Brock Vaughn, two innings, came on in relief and gave up one hit each, allowed one walk with three strikeouts.

Dylan Allamon pitched four innings for Northmont, scattered four hits, got tagged for one earned run with three walks and one strikeout. Connor Price pitched two innings, surrendered one hit, no earned runs with one walk and four strikeouts.

Price and Teller accounted for both of Northmont’s hits.

Last Wednesday the Thunderbolts fell to Chaminade-Julienne 14-2 in five innings. Jacob Brunner led the Eagles with three hits in four at bats with one run and five RBIs. Jackson Frasure went 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBIs.

Charlie Hoagland pitched four innings, scattered three hits, had no earned runs with two walks and three strikeouts. Patrick Conter-Day worked one inning in relief, gave up two hits, one earned run with two walks and two strikeouts.

Conti, Hoops, Ross and Christian Pendleton each had one hit for Northmont with Chris Gross and Brady Lupton each driving in a run.

Hoops, Drew Carver, Maddox Simmons and Brady Whitaker all saw action on the mound surrendering a combined total of eight hits, eight earned runs, eight walks and two strikeouts.
