PIQUA — Twin Valley South had four individual district champions en route to a second-place team finish during the Piqua Division III boys district track meet Tuesday, May 16 and Saturday, May 20.
The Panthers finished with 78 points to finish behind district champion Versailles, who tallied 98 points.
Overall, South had six individuals and two relay teams qualify for the regional meet after top four finishes at the district meet.
Cole Bishop led the way for South winning both the 100 and 200 meters. He won the 100 in 11.01 seconds and took the 200 in 22.47.
Whyatt Lakes won the 300 hurdles in 40.98. Lakes also finished fourth in the 110 hurdles in 15.59 to advance.
The Panthers 4×200 won a district title in 1:33.05 and the 4×400 relay team was second in 3:35.24.
Griffin Roell moved on with a third-place finish in the 1,600 with a time of 4:47.8 and he was fifth in the 800 with a time of 2:05.48.
Jake Sarver advanced to the regional with a fourth-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 19-9.5. Sarver finished sixth in the high jump, clearing 5-9.
Brayden Koeller was fifth in the 100 in 11:61.
Conner Mowell was sixth in the pole vault clearing 12-0 and the 4×100 relay team was seventh in 47.25.
For the girls, Valen Burkett placed seventh in the 100 hurdles in 18.42.
The regional meet will be held Wednesday, May 24 and Friday, May 26 at Troy High School. On Wednesday, field events are scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. with running scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
