GRATIS TOWNSHIP — Preble County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Gratis Township man after a short investigation into stolen property earlier this month.

According to Sheriff Mike Simpson, on Saturday, June 3, investigators executed a search warrant at 11575 Ohio 122 South after receiving information stolen property was likely located on the property.

“During the search, deputies located a stolen SCAG riding mower, valued at approximately $9,000,” Simpson reported. “The mower was stolen from the Beavercreek area.”

Deputies also located several firearms at the property. According to Simpson, the suspect in this case, Donald R. Wilson Jr. is currently under indictment in a separate criminal case and is prohibited from possessing firearms. Deputies also located a small amount of suspected methamphetamine and drug instruments.

Deputies arrested Wilson Jr., 43, at the 11575 Ohio 122 residence. He has been formally charged in Eaton Municipal Court with charges including having weapons under disability, a third-degree felony; aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony; receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony and possession of drug abuse instrument, a second-degree misdemeanor.

Investigators are continuing their investigation and additional charges could be filed, according to Simpson. Wilson remained in the Preble County Jail at press time.
