BROOKVILLE — The Brookville Soccer Association informed the park board the organization plans to hold its annual fall parade and opening day ceremonies on August 12.

BSA President Dustin Holcomb said the parade will begin at 9 a.m.

Holcomb said the parade will form and begin on Carr Drive.

Holcomb said the parade will proceed to Cusick Avenue and turn left onto Market Street.

Holcomb said the parade will proceed on Market Street and then turn right onto Wolf Creek Street.

Holcomb said the parade will turn left onto Arlington Road and proceed to Westbrook Park.

“The opening day ceremonies will take place near the concession stand. There will be the National Anthem, an opening prayer, announcement of the teams and their sponsors, and then we will have our first games,” Holcomb said.

Holcomb said this is his first year as BSA president.

“Chip Prinz retired as president. He did some excellent work for us. His boy aged out, so he’s moved on to high school and he handed it off to me,” Holcomb said.

Holcomb noted the soccer program continues to grow.

“This season for fall of 2023, we have 369 registrations, which I think may be a new record for us,” Holcomb said.

“We have 33 teams. Most of our ages are from 4 to 13, although we may have a handful of 3 year olds and 14 year olds, depending on how their birthdays fall,” Holcomb said.

“We just continue to get stronger. We have a very strong board and a lot of good helpers, who pitch in to even out the work,” Holcomb said.
