EATON — On Saturday, July 29, Drum Corps International held a competition in Ohio, and Eaton High School played host to a California-based group as it prepared.

The group called Gold Drum and Bugle Corps traveled all the way from San Diego, California to compete in Ohio. Gold Drum and Bugle Corps was 10 days away from its World Championships which are held in Indianapolis.

Eaton High School Music Boosters hosted the group the entire day on July 29. Some 200 members of the Gold Drum and Bugle Corps, including staff, stayed in the Eaton High School gymnasium, rehearsed in the stadium and then traveled to Bellbrook for the competition later that evening.

“It was awesome to watch them rehearse. The discipline, the strength and the sound they put out is amazing, said Eaton Colorguard Director Lisa White. “The colorguard could not be more together.”
