Northmont girls tennis

wins 6th straight match

CLAYTON — With back-to-back victories over Greenville and Sidney, the Northmont girls tennis team extended its winning streak to six matches to improve to 8-1 overall.

Monday the Lady Bolts defeated Greenville 5-0. At 1st singles Lily Braswell defeated Sadie Lance 6-0, 6-0. Second doubles saw Erin Kelsey score a 6-2, 6-2 win over Maddie Lance. At 3rd singles Tyler Buxton notched a 6-3, 6-1 win against Riley Etchison.

In first doubles Kennedi Robinson and Makayla Hibbard defeated Meadow Murphy and Haylee Shuttleworth 6-2, 6-1. The second doubles team of Bridget Scranton and Addison Wilson scored a 6-0, 6-2 win over Sienna Gilman and Lilly Daigle.

In JV action Jaynelis Burgos, Makayla Blake, Madison Evan, Meleeya Miliner, Ashley Weiss, Hailey Wheeler and Miracle Akpan all won their matches.

Against Sidney Braswell scored 6-0, 6-0 win at 1st singles over Ava Graber. At 2nd singles Kelsey defeated Camryn Edwards 6-0, 6-0. In 3rd singles action Buxton notched a 6-0, 6-0 victory against Brooklyn Koester.

At 1st doubles Robinson and Hibbard defeated Anna Ervin and Laceland Burdiss 6-0, 6-0. In 2nd doubles Scranton and Wilson scored a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Serenity Echols and Laila Caudill.

Northmont volleyball

defeats Miamisburg

CLAYTON — Tuesday the Northmont girls volleyball team swept Miamisburg in three sets to improve to 3-2 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

Northmont won by scores of 25-9, 25-19 and 25-15. Lydia, Aerial, and Jadyn led set 1 with 3 kills respectively. Set 2 was controlled by Junior, Lydia Bridenbaugh with 6 kills on 8 attempts hitting a .750% as well as defensive players Tamia and Madison Wadle who contributed 4 digs each to keep the Lady Bolts moving forward.

Set 3, Northmont was unstoppable with every hitter connecting with the setter and our defense did not let a ball drop as the Bolts had 25 digs just in the third set.

Junior Lydia Bridenbaugh finished the match with 12 kills and 9 digs. Junior Elle Gilmore finished the match with 6 kills. Sophomore Jadyn Johnson finished the match with 5 kills and 4 blocks. Junior Maddie Hager finished the match with 27 assists and 12 digs. Seniors Tamia contributed 11 digs and Ashlyn contributed 9 digs. Junior Madison Wadle had 6 digs.

T’bolts’ boys golf

defeats Springfield

CLAYTON — Northmont’s varsity boys golf team scored a 165-177 victory Monday over Springfield on the front nine holes at Meadowbrook at Clayton Golf Course.

J.J. Morgan led the Thunderbolts with a 37 to finish as medalist. Eli Siehl finished with a 42 while Hayden Davis and Ben Dawson each carded a 43.

Lady Bolts golfers

17th at invitational

CENTERVILLE — The Lady Bolts varsity golf team finished 17th out of 17 teams Monday at the Lady Elks Invitational held at The Golf Club at Yankee Trace in Centerville.

Sycamore took 1st place with a team score of 305. Centerville’s Gold Team placed 5th with a 332. Northmont finished with a score of 426 led by sophomore Megan Fosberg with a 91. Emma Thayer had a 95, Leila Boyce 119 and Shelby Clagg 121.

Caroline Thompson of Sycamore was the tournament medalist recording a stellar round of 68 with a 37 and a 31.

Brookville volleyball

drops match at Eaton

EATON — Tuesday the Lady Devils volleyball team lost in three sets to Eaton by scores of 25-21, 25-16, and 25-22. Sidney Sprada led Brookville with 11 total service point, 15 kills and seven digs. Lauren Eller had 14 total service points and Logynn Barr had 11 total service points and eight digs.
