EATON — The Star Theatre at Eagle’s Point is gearing up for its second of three shows in its American Heritage Concert Series. On Friday, Sept. 15, The Tillers and The Montvales will be thumping the night away with their bluegrass tunes, according to a recent press release.

The Tillers, from Cincinnati, got their start in August 2007 when they started “thumping around with some banjos and guitars and a big wooden bass,” the release noted. “Their earliest gigs were for coins and burritos on Cincinnati’s famous Ludlow Street in the district of Clifton.”

The Tillers have been awarded City Beat Magazine’s Cincinnati Entertainment Award for best Folk and Americana Act in 2009, 2010, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017.

Opening for The Tillers will be The Montvales, originally from Knoxville, Tennessee and now based in Cincinnati. They are an “all female, bluegrass, harmony driven duo with soulful lyrics and a beat in their step,” the release noted.

Doors will open at 7 p.m., shows start at 8 p.m. Concessions and alcohol will be available for sale. Drink sales support The Hit Foundation, which serves Preble County low-income families with affordable housing and additional services.
