CLAYTON — With a 3-1 victory Monday over Fairborn in the Southwest 4 Division I sectional, No. 10 seed Northmont advances to face No. 8 seed Miamisburg at Miamisburg High School.

The Lady Vikings scored an 8-0 victory over Stivers to earn the right to host Northmont.

Fairborn took a 1-0 lead on a penalty kick by Brooklyn Anderson twelve minutes and thirteen seconds into the match.

Six minutes and 10 seconds later Alina Perkins scored on a direct kick to tie the game 1-1. With 6:02 remaining in the first half Emma Poland boosted Northmont’s lead to 2-1.

Perkins scored again off an assist by Scarlett Knaier with 7:50 left in the second half to propel the Lady Bolts to the next round of play.

“It was good game for us,” said Northmont coach Kinsey Mangen. “With the exception of the unfortunate penalty at the beginning we gained control of the game and had some good scoring opportunities to prepare us for the next round.”
