WEST ALEXANDRIA — The West Alexandria Celebration Committee hosted its Oktoberfest on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 14-15, and despite not-so-good weather on Saturday was a huge success, according to committee members.

The festival featured its traditional activities and craft vendors, live music and a variety of food options, ranging from pretzels to barbecue and sausage to kettle corn and more.

“We would like to thank everyone who came out to the Oktoberfest this weekend and made it such a huge success,” the committee said in a post on its Facebook page. “Also a big shout out to Salem Lutheran Church for all their support and the use of their parking lot, to Roselius Insurance for the use of their parking lot, Tuken’s Orchard and Farm Market for decorating the gazebo, Majestic Nursery for decorating the stage area, Adam Craft for help with the electric and John Glander and the fire department for help with the water.

“We have already started working on next year’s Oktoberfest so be sure to mark your calendars so you don’t miss it!”
