Pinnell, Walton to perform at Star Theatre

EATON — Jeremy Pinnell will play the Star Theatre at Eagle’s Point on Saturday, Nov. 11.

His rough edged, honky tonk style music, exemplified by his magic of songwriting, will be a show that shouldn’t be missed.

Local legend in the making, Tyler Michael Walton and the Mayflower Satchel, will be the opening act, adding to the anticipation of the best country concert in the county.

Pinnell, a native of northern Kentucky, and no stranger to Cincinnati, emerged on the country music scene in 2015. This spring, he was named winner in the Honky Tonk Male category at The Ameripolitan Music Awards. With albums like “Good-bye L.A.” and “Ties of Blood and Affection,” it is no wonder that The Rolling Stone magazine had this to say: “Hardscrabble honky-tonk at its best, nodding to Johnny Cash and Buck Owens in equal measure. Ties of Blood and Affection is a stellar collection that could earn Pinnell comparisons to Sturgill Simpson.”

Tyler Michael Walton and the Mayflower Satchel is a blend of Preble County and Dayton area natives, complementing the evening with their version of honky tonk country. Walton, on guitar, is joined by Weedle Worley on mandolin and Ed Crislip on drums, all three of them contributing to vocals. This homegrown Preble County favorite always shows the crowd a good time inspiring dance and singing along to the music.

The concert is the last of the 2023 American Heritage Series presented by The Star Theatre at Eagle’s Point. Tickets are $20 presale and can be purchased online at www.eatonstartheatre.com or at The Star Theatre Thursdays 1 p.m.-3 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays 7 p.m.-9 p.m. and Sundays 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Tickets can be also purchased at Bushrod Brew Works in Eaton and at Worley’s Country Store near Lakengren.
