BROOKVILLE — The Brookville Corvette Club recently made a $1,000 to Ty’s Christmas Wish.Ty Fugate is a 16-year-old from Preble County, who at the age of 5 came up with the idea of “Ty’s Christmas Wish.” On Christmas Day he was admitted to Children’s Hospital with a high fever. As he was leaving the hospital he was given a toy and from that moment on, he stated he wanted to bring a truckload of toys to Children’s so that the kids staying in the hospital could have a good Christmas. The first year, he was able to donate a few bags of toys. Since that time, it has increased yearly until he had to obtain a utility trailer to haul all the toys. He has collected and donated over 3,000 toys every year since. “This young man has grown into a compassionate , caring, generous young man and still wants to continue this tradition of his,” Corvett Club members said in a press release. “If you feel it in your heart to give a new toy to Dayton Children’s Hospital, please know that it gets there with lots of love. Thank you for your gifts. Pictured left to right are Club President Gary Chesnut, Ty Fugate, Paula Ransdell and Patty Wagner.
