CLARK, MONTGOMERY & WARREN COUNTIES — The Greater Western Ohio Conference recently announced its All-Conference football teams.
Brent Ullery (Centerville) earned Coach of the Year while leading the Elks to a 1st place finish in the GWOC with a conference record of 6-1 and 8-2 during the regular season.
Miamisburg quarterback Preston Barr and Centerville defensive back Reggie Powers III each earned Athlete of the Year honors. Athlete of the Year honors apparently are not strictly based on statistics.
Barr was fourth among GWOC passing leaders, completing 64.4 percent of his passes for 1,455 yards, 11 touchdowns and four interceptions. He also rushed for 400 yards and 12 touchdowns on 108 attempts.
Northmont quarterback Cahké “Deuce” Cortner led the GWOC with 2,267 yards, 29 touchdowns with 11 interceptions completing 59.3 percent of his passes. Cortner also rushed for 501 yards and seven TDs on 110 attempts.
