PREBLE COUNTY — As 2023 wraps up, the Preble County Historical Society and Nature Reserve has selected its first Discover Preble Scavenger Hunt winner.

Todd Izor and his family, Kari, Cora, Lincoln, and Bailey went on an adventure through Preble County, visiting 25 local businesses, organizations, local parks, and bridges this fall. PCHS presented them with a check for $250.

Discover Preble was designed by the PCHS to help promote travel and tourism throughout the county. Families and visitors from all over the world grabbed their map, and the game board and played.

Visitors from Germany, France, Italy, and other parts of the United States enjoyed the family fun adventure.

The Izor family is from West Alexandria.

“Our favorite stop was the A.S.K. Playground. The kids enjoyed playing on the equipment and had a blast there,” the family said.

Discover Preble was sponsored this year by the Preble County Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Preble County Economic Development Partnership, and the Eaton Rotary Club.

“The 2nd Annual Discover Preble Event kicks off on Saturday, May 11, 2024. We hope everyone will save the date and come play,” said Lisa White, PCHS Executive Director. “A special thanks to the 25 businesses and parks for playing this inaugural year. We couldn’t have done it without you!”
