Senior Citizens Christmas Luncheon held

BROOKVILLE — On November 28, Brookville High School once again hosted its annual Senior Citizen Christmas Luncheon.

More than 100 local senior citizens attended. There were a few “first-timers” but most were familiar faces who have attended over the years. All were excited to be back and to visit with one another and enjoy the afternoon together.

The luncheon began with Mrs. Robbins and the Nutrition Team who did another fantastic job. The food was delicious and the decorations created by elementary students, as well as the centerpieces added the perfect touch.

Key Club and Student Council students did a wonderful job assisting seniors with parking, entry into the building and serving lunch. The custodial team played their role keeping our cafeteria looking its best.

Many kind words of appreciation for our donors’ generosity were made by Principal Jason Stephan and even a few laughs were provided by Superintendent Jason Wood.

In the auditorium guests enjoyed a musical presentation performed by Shades of Blue and Mrs. McPherson’s 2nd grade music classes, who presented another wonderful Christmas program.

The centerpieces were raffled and the recipients, as noted below, were very excited to take home the beautiful creations provided by Brookville Flower Shop.

Thanks to everyone who made this year’s luncheon another great success!

The Christmas centerpiece give-away recipients, created by Brookville Flower Shop, were as follows:

Pat Szucs, Cyndi Minniear, Linda Leffew, Cathy Mendenhall, Roberta Bourelle, Jean Claggett, Bette, Raymond, Nancy Hern, Paul Terrill, Virginia Filbrun, Bonnie Hinds, Leonard Leffew, Gary Curliss, Doug Coppess, Linda Strausberg, John Behm, Janice Lindsay, Sharon Heitkamp, Byron Flora, Vernon Pigg, Debbie Lou Bollinger, Pamela Lunsford, Nora Stiver, Jim DeJonghe, Karen Pigg, Dave Presson, Ron Bourelle
