Beavercreek overwhelms Lady Bolts

CLAYTON — Beavercreek’s girls basketball team scored multiple clean and easy layups Saturday to post a runaway 63-27 victory over Northmont.

Senior forward Lilli Leopard scored a season-high 21 points shooting 70 percent from the floor by hitting seven of 10 field goals and was a perfect seven for seven on free throws to lead the Lady Beavers’ attack.

Charlotte Paulding, another senior forward, hit six of nine field goal attempts and went two for two at the foul line to score 14.

Jenna Hall, Ayla Rammel, and Brenna Williams each scored four points for the Lady Bolts.

Northmont got a pair of three-pointers in the first quarter, one by Shari Taylor and one by Laynee Barrett, to trail 11-8 entering the second stanza. Beavercreek blew the game wide open with 21 points in the second quarter to lead 32-17 at halftime.

The Lady Beavers added 18 more in the third quarter as their lead ballooned to 50-23 and limited Northmont to just four points in the fourth quarter to post the 36 point margin of victory.

Beavercreek won its third straight to improve to 5-2 overall and 3-2 in the Greater Western Ohio Conference to move into fourth place. Northmont fell to 3-6 overall and 1-5 in the GWOC.
